InfoShare: Data Center Infrastructure
InfoShare is considered a Tier IV data center composed of multiple active power and cooling distribution paths, has
redundant components, and is fault tolerant, providing 99.995% availability.
We maintain direct multi-Gigabit bandwidth connections into four Internet backbone carriers, including AT&T, Verizon,
Qwest, and Level3.
The InfoShare state-of-the-art Data Center is engineered for high performance and redundancy. It has rich optic fiber
connections to all major carriers and scalable bandwidth capacity.
InfoShare uses only top brand, high performance equipment and servers. We maintain a 100% Cisco network and employ
only Cisco routers and switches. We offer and fully support advanced Internet tools such as load balancing, clustering,
firewalls, cache and data storage devices. We use only up-to-date, high performance servers.
InfoShare: Power
To prevent single points of failure, all elements of the electrical systems, are fully duplicated, and critical servers are
connected to a dual utility power grid.
InfoShare’s Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system is deployed in a parallel redundant configuration to achieve N+ 1
redundancy and insure against short-term interruptions of power. Power regulation ensures the quality of power so that all
equipment receives constant line voltage to ensure clean data grade power.
Additionally, a 1,000 KW standby generator provides up to 100% of stand by power.
InfoShare: Temperature Controlled Environment
InfoShare’s data center is protected by an indoor cooling system and is maintained generally around 20-22 degrees Celsius
(about 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit). This is crucial since electronic equipment in a confined space generates much excess
heat, and tends to malfunction if not adequately cooled. Our primary goal is to keep our server components at the board
level within the manufacturer’s specified temperature/humidity range. Our humidity parameters are kept between 35% and
65% Relative Humidity. Too much humidity and water may begin to condense on internal components; too little and static
electricity may damage components. Additionally we have raised anti-static flooring made up of 2 ft removable tiles.
These provide a plenum for air to circulate below the floor, as part of the air conditioning system. Our data cabling is routed
through overhead cable trays.
InfoShare: Fire Suppression System
InfoShare’s Data Center is engineered with the state-of-the-art fire detection and suppression to prevent against any critical
loss due to fire. Concrete floors, all steel ceilings, fire proof walls, and steel racks.
To prevent accidental sprinkler discharge, the data center is equipped with a zoned, dry-pipe, pre-action sprinkler system. A
state-of-the-art VESDA air sampling fire detection system is capable of detecting invisible by-products of materials as they
degrade during the pre-combustion stages of an incipient fire by actively and continuously sampling air.
InfoShare: Security
There are five levels of security required to gain physical access to InfoShare’s servers and equipment in our data center.
LEVEL 1: Code Access Lock to enter the building from the public street. Each employee is assigned a unique access code -
and entry is computer logged.
LEVEL 2: Security Guard. InfoShare data center visitors must provide proper identification and sign-in to access the building
lobby and elevators.
LEVEL 3: Once inside the facility, all server areas are protected by steel doors and Proximity Security Badge locks. The
name, date, and time of every entry is computer logged.
LEVEL 4: Locked Cages and Cabinets are provided for additional security. Keys are required to open and access these
servers. All keys are managed by the InfoShare SMC staff.
Level 5: In addition to the other four levels of physical access security, the entire data center is monitored 24x7 by security
cameras and InfoShare on-site staff. Cameras are positioned at every entrance, each and every rack isle and server cage
areas. All security cameras are recorded.
